JUSTIN BELAGAMAGE (B.A., C.A)

A graduate of University of Colombo and professionally qualified as a Chartered Accountant, Mr. Belagamage has been a career banker, a management consultant, and a prolific writer on management and business topics. Until recently, he was the management columnist of the Lanka Monthly Digest (LMD), the premier business magazine in Sri Lanka. About three years ago he and Ms. Rajindra Jayasinghe ventured into property development business, almost by accident, establishing Mandakini Residencies (Pvt) Ltd. (MRPL), and with Mr. A T P Edirisinghe (FCA., FCMA), a highly respected chartered accountant in the country, as their mentor and Chairman of the company. MRPL enjoys the status BOI (Board of Investment) approved company with statutory privileges.

Having been a movie buff from his childhood, Mr. Belagamage followed the industry in the country until about an year ago when he decided to do something about it. Meeting Jackson Anthony in the early part of 2007 was its result and the rest is history.

Given the current situation of the cinema industry in the country, the decision to invest in making a mega movie of ABA magnitude was not easy. Both producers, however, believe that the release of ABA will mark a watershed event in the history of Sri Lankan cinema that will help rejuvenate the industry which is suffering mainly due to the lack of investor interest.

 
MS. RAJINDRA JAYASINGHE (FCA)

Ms. Jayasinghe is a Chartered Accountant with a high market visibility. She retired, about three years ago after 22 years of service, from the John Keells Group of companies, the most diversified blue chip conglomerate in the country. At JKH, Ms. Jayasinghe earned the singular distinction of being appointed the first-ever female director of the company. Her major interests are in music and dancing and her foremost contribution towards making of ABA, among many other things, is developing a strong, transparent, and verifiable system of accounting for this enormously expensive and complicated project.

She is also a director of Mandakini Residencies (Pvt) Ltd., a property development company with Board of Investment (BOI) status.
